Martindale Friesian Farm is pleased to announce that we are open for business at our new USDA approved CEM quarantine facility in Northern Indiana. After three and a half years of preparation to meet state and federal requirements we will be the first facility to ever be approved in the state of Indiana. Our facility will be approved for mares only at this time. We are centrally located in northern Indiana, just minutes from the Indiana Toll road, making our facility convenient to Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Wisconsin and other states in the Midwest.
Our facility was designed with your horse’s safety and comfort in mind. Our 12 x 12 stalls are bright and airy with Dutch doors to the outside individual paddocks. All the stalls were constructed of nonporous materials so that a sanitary environment can be maintained. Large pasture areas are available for turnout.
Horses will be feed grain twice a day and plenty of high quality mixed hay to keep them happy. We can also customize the feeding requirements to meet your needs.
The veterinary services for our quarantine will be provide by Weldy’s and Associates of Wakarusa, owned by Dr. Jerry Sellon. Dr Sellon’s excellent reputation with the Indiana Board of Animal Health was instrumental in the state’s decision to allow this quarantine in Indiana.
In addition to providing CEM service, Martindale Friesian Farm can provide transportation from the USDA quarantine in New York to our quarantine facility in Indiana. Once a horse is released from quarantine we can also provide transportation to it’s final destination.
The price for Martindale Friesian Farm’s CEM service is:
$1600.00 per mare
(Saturday and Sunday arrivals will require an additional $100 fee for the USDA after hours service.)
The price for transporting horses from the USDA quarantine in New York is:
$1,250.00 for one horse
$1,500.00 for two horses
$1,750.00 for three horses
The price to transport one or more horses to their new home will vary depending upon the distance from Martindale Friesian Farm.
If you would like to have any other veterinary services (vaccinations, worming, etc.) for your horse while they are on our farm we can provide those at an additional cost.
